Growing Broccoli Sun King F1

Sowing

Sow Broccoli Sun King F1 seeds in trays or modules under glass at a temperature of 13°C from February for later sowings, make shallow drills 2cm (3/4″) deep in short rows in a seed bed.

Potting On and Growing As soon as the seedlings show their first pair of leaves, prick off into trays 5cm (2″) apart or thin modules to one seedling per cell. For outdoor sowing thin to 7-10cm (3-4in) apart, then lift and transplant plants to their final planting positions once they are 15cm (6in) tall, spaced the same as detailed above.

Harvesting

Harvest Broccoli Sun King F1 from July to September.

Tips All brassicas, including Sung King F1 broccoli, prefer to be planted into firm, fertile ground to produce the best crops. Keep the plants well-watered during very dry weather, especially as heads start to form.
